My name is Rodney Fields and I am a 32 year old account manager for a nation-wide store chain. I currently live in New York City. If you stumbled upon this page, it is because you’re looking into the possibility of finding someone online or you’ve tried online dating sites before and are looking for a better alternative. Well, for the past two years I’ve been a member of numerous online matchmaking services and I would like to share with you my experiences and most importantly my top pick for the best dating site that I’ve found so far.

The first service that I’ve subscribed to online was match.com. They have a nicely designed website and they promise guaranteed results within six months, but somehow I just couldn’t connect with anyone that I’ve met through their website. My personal impression of their matching system is that it’s flawed and they are not willing to do anything to fix it. I’ve had a few dates with women I’ve met through match.com and none of them went well. I don’t consider myself to be a ladies’ man by any stretch of the imagination but I know how to handle myself around women and all those bad dates couldn’t have been all my fault. I decided to try another site called eHarmony (I pretty sure you’ve heard of it).

Like match.com, eHarmony is a paid service and quite an expensive one. It cost about 60$ per month, but the way they describe their benefits I thought it would be worth the price. At eHarmony you are supposed to be matched according to an extensive profile that you create when you join. They pride themselves in having a system that supposedly produces the best matches. Imagine my surprise when the first date that I had through eHarmony was a complete disaster. The 28 year old woman that I was supposed to be meeting was actually closer to 50! I mean I have nothing against older women but that kind of an age difference is just not my cup of tea. At that point I knew that the vaunted eHarmony system was an expensive rip off.

After those two disappointing experiences I turned to a purely free site called plentyoffish (I’m sure you’ve heard of this one also). This one was on my black list almost immediately due to the questionable crowd on this site. It seems like most of the profiles they have is the throw away kind or some kind of a scam. On top of that, I am convinced that the selection of attractive women on plentyoffish is very small or almost non-existent. I was about ready to give up on the whole internet dating thing and go back to hitting the bars and other singles gathering places (even though I’m not much of a bar person myself).

Luckily a friend from my hometown called me and we started talking about our love lives. He recommended a site called MatchMaker.com (INSERT LINK). I signed up for a free account without getting my hopes up too much, and let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed. Out of all the sites that I’ve tried MatchMaker.com was definitely the best one. I’ve had multiple positive experiences with the women I’ve met on that site and the variety is much better than on any other site I’ve tried. I would give MatchMaker.com two thumbs up.
